Get Up Close and in the Water with our Harbor Seals

The Virginia Aquarium is the only place in the United States that where you can get in the water to interact with harbor seals!

During this 90-minute experience, get a behind-the-scenes look at aquarium operations, including a peek at the sea turtles, and participate in a 20-minute in-water behavioral training session with the harbor seals. In the "staff-only" holding area, learn about the natural history of seals and the training techniques vital to their care in an aquarium setting. Then, enter the water with a mammal care specialist to lead a seal through a training activity.

Requirements

• Children must be at least 8 years old and 48 inches tall to participate.
• Children ages 8-12 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
• Reservations must be made in advance.
• Registered participants will receive details about what to wear.
