Internships for College Students

The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center offers unpaid internship opportunities for college students interested in careers related to marine science, science education or staff support in the non-profit field.

All interns can expect to:

• Enhance skills and build resumes
• Make professional contacts which will last a lifetime
• Receive all benefits of the Aquarium’s Volunteer Program
• Feel that time and effort has been well spent in furthering the Aquarium’s environmental education mission

All interns are required to:

• Maintain a daily journal
• Meet with cooperating staff member at least once a week
• Keep log of hours worked
• Give a minimum of 160 hours (more for certain positions)
