Let us help you make the most of your visit to Virginia Aquarium.
Whom do I call to make a reservation?
Contact Guest Services by email or call (757) 385-0300.
Can someone assist me in choosing a program that suits my group’s needs?
Contact our School Programs Specialist by email or call (757)385-0275.
How much time should I allot for an aquarium visit?
You can spend two hours or more exploring our exhibits. Add an additional hour for an IMAX® show or an on-site program. If you are traveling with a large group, also consider how long it will take to get off the buses and into the Aquarium.
How many chaperones do I need with my group?
One teacher or other adult for every ten students is required and admitted at no charge (one for every five students for pre-K and K). Chaperones must remain with their students throughout the aquarium visit.
How is payment handled?
For an aquarium visit, your payment will be due upon arrival. To receive group rates, we ask that you pay for the entire group, including additional chaperones, in one payment – check, credit card (MasterCard, Visa), or cash. For an outreach, Ocean in Motion, Bay Lab, or boat program, you must submit payment in advance to the Aquarium. Your contract will specify the date that payment is due.
What about lunch?
Box lunches are available through Sodexo. Click here to see menu options for your students. Limited on-site picnic facilities can be reserved in advance through Guest Services. Redwing Park, which has picnic shelters and playgrounds, is located nearby.
Are souvenirs available for my students?
Pre-packaged goodie bags are available for $1 each. To order, call 757-385-0321 two weeks prior to your visit. You and your students are also invited to shop in our two Aquarium Stores during your visit.
You will receive additional information about your visit
after you have made a reservation through our Guest Services office.
